Meet Maya

I am a perinatal mental health therapist in Washington State with 24 years of experience working with birthing parents. I focus on supporting women during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early parenting. I also help clients with grief, loss, and the effects of vicarious trauma.

Through my work and personal experiences, I noticed a lack of thoughtful support for women facing perinatal challenges. This led me to complete my Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute, where I was trained in an in-depth psychological approach that combines Jungian, psychoanalytic, feminist, humanistic, and attachment theories. In my work, I strive to provide culturally sensitive, empowering, and inclusive therapy to clients during these crucial transitions.

A foundational premise of my work is that everyone is on their own unique path of healing and understanding their experience. I view my clients as the experts of their own lives and offer compassionate guidance to help them understand their experiences and connect more deeply with themselves and others.

My specialties include:

  • Anxiety and depression during pregnancy and postpartum

  • Birth trauma and recovery

  • Grief and loss

  • Parenting stress and adjustments

  • Relationship challenges in the perinatal period and beyond

  • Vicarious trauma processing for partners, birth workers, and obstetric providers

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C). I offer sessions either in person at my office in Woodinville, WA, or via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. I currently work with individuals and couples who reside within Washington State.

The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door; if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.
